ALDERSON, James. (Dubuque County, Iowa, Apr. 17, 1864 --Strawberry Point, IA, Nov. 2, 1953). Physician. Alderson was an active promoter of the city manager style of government. He served as the first MAYOR when that form of government was adopted in Dubuque in 1920.

Alderson served many years on the city council. He was also a member of the board of directors of FINLEY HOSPITAL (THE).
