PENN PLACE. Westside apartment complex formally known as Hamilton Glen Apartments.

The 1977 Dubuque City Directory listed 3652, 3702, and 3700 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The 1980 Dubuque City Directory listed 3652 and 3700 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The 1983 through 1987 Dubuque City Directory listed only 3652 Pennsylvania.

In February 1979, a Dubuque investment group headed by Eric Schulz and Jesse McIntyre purchased the complex for $3.4 million, believed then to be the single largest real estate transaction recorded in Dubuque County. At the time Hamilton Glenn comprised 198 apartments in fourteen buildings with garages and a swimming pool. The buildings were located on seventeen acres located across from STEPHEN HEMPSTEAD HIGH SCHOOL along Pennsylvania Avenue.
