DUBUQUE NATIONAL DEMOKRAT. The tri-weekly Demokrat was discontinued and only the weekly was issued after November 17, 1860. (1) On January 4, 1861 the National Demokrat entered upon its fifth year. (2) Listed as a weekly German publication, the "Demokrat" had Frederick GNIFFKE as proprietor and publisher.

The 1858-1859 and 1861 Dubuque City Directory listed 91 Main.

The 1868 Guide, Gazetteer and Directory of the Dubuque & Soux (sic) City Railroad stated that this business was located on Locust between 5th and 6th.

The 1873-74 Dubuque City Directory listed 6th between Main and Locust.

The 1899-1900 Dubuque City Directory listed 148 6th for this weekly publication.

The 1911-12 through 1918 Dubuque City Directory listed 148 6th as the address.

The paper was last printed in 1933.
