PRENDERGAST, Clare. (Alliance, NB--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 2, 1976). Champion bowler. Prendergast became the first state champion in Class B when she scored a total of 1,465 in 1939. Once runner-up in the women's city golf tournament, Prendergast taught in the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT and retired in 1971 as supervisor of home economics.
