COLLIER (JAMES) HOME. This QUEEN ANNE ARCHITECTURE home is thought to have been designed by Thomas CARKEEK between 1897 and 1901 on land purchased from James LANGWORTHY. The home was constructed next to that of Robert Hutcheson COLLIER, his father.

The home remained in the family until 1964. Many fine woods were used throughout the house including quarter sawn oak in the reception hall and stairway. The parlor has a fireplace of African mahogany.
