FELDERMAN, Robert J.
FELDERMAN, Robert J. (Dubuque, IA-- ). Brigadier General. In 2009 Brig. General Robert J. Felderman was awarded the Army Aviation Association of America's Order of Saint Michael Bronze Award. Established in 1990 as a joint venture of the U.S. Army Aviation Center and the association, the Order recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the promotion of Army Aviation in ways that stand out in the eyes of the recipient's seniors, subordinates and peers.
At the time of the award, Felderman served at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado in a joint assignment as the Deputy Director for Plans, Policy and Strategy at North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command. He was responsible for dealing with service aviation issues including organizing, training and procurement. In his 22-year aviation career, he had more than 2,200 accident free hours in more than seven different models of helicopters.
Gen. Felderman enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1975 as a weapons control specialist on the F-106 fighter. He was the first major general from Dubuque since Francis J. KELLY. Retired in 2010, he was the owner of Dubuque-based Continental Realty and Felderman Appraisals.
