LORENZ, Matt. (Dubuque, IA- ). Lorenz, a graduate of the UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE, began work at the DUBUQUE CITY HALL after working as a part-time instructor at the Area I Vocational-Technical School. In 1973 Lorenz became Dubuque's first full-time director of the Human Rights Department. Under his direction the March Experiment was begun through which participating companies learned how they might solve their own discrimination problems. Lorenz left the position in November 1990, after claiming that he had too many bosses to be effective in his work.
