WALACHY, Jean. (Manchester, IA-- )Jean Drees was a graduate of the Mercy Medical Center School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at Mercy Medical Center when she married John WALACHY, the founder, leader, and lead guitarist of LAVENDAR HILL.
After John's death in 2011, she created the John Walachy Music Legacy & sponsored ROCK 'N' ROLL REWIND. She also created the IRRMA band camp for Iowa youth musicians, Iowa Rocks Talent competition, and local theater productions as her way to honor his legacy. (1)
