PITTSBURG-GALENA MINING COMPANY
PITTSBURG-GALENA MINING COMPANY. Incorporated in September, 1915 in Dubuque, the company took over the lease on the minineral rights to the J. R. Miller farm at Pike's Peak, a region five miles southwest of Dubuque in one of the richest LEAD AND ZINC mining areas in eastern Iowa. It had been prospected around 1906 by the Dubuque and Lake Superior Company before the price of zinc fell.
