MAPLELEAF. Mussel. With a length to 4 inches (10.2 cm), the mapleleaf mussel lives in medium to large rivers and reservoirs with a mud, sand, or gravel bottom. The mussel is considered widespread and common. Hosts for the young include channel catfish, brown and black bullhead, and flathead catfish.
