SASS, Charles. (Guttenberg, IA--Berlin, Germany, Aug. 10,1926). Sass, the operator of a book and stationery store, was elected the city treasurer of Dubuque in 1890. He later resigned to become cashier of the PIONEER SAVINGS BANK AND TRUST COMPANY. He held this office until July 1925, when he was elected president of the same institution.
