Hammel & Henker Company. The Hammel & Henker mill had a capacity of 150 barrels of flour daily or approximately 5,400 tons annually. The mill employed twelve, but most of the work was done by machinery. "Rooster" brand flours was the specialty of the company with wheat flour, rye flour, graham flour, buckwheat flour and pancake flour sold in Dubuque, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa where competition with larger mills was less.

The 1903 Dubuque County Rural Route Directory listed 18th and Pine.

The 1922 Dubuque Telephone Directory listed 18th and Pinard.
