HEEB, Anton. (Kurkessen, Germany Apr. 11,1812--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 23, 1881). Brewer. Heeb once operated the largest brewery in Iowa. Settling in Dubuque in 1850, Heeb founded the A. Heeb Brewing Company that at the time of his death had an annual production of 15,000 barrels.
Heeb served as a director of the GERMAN TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK and the Dubuque Fire and Marine Insurance Company. He was elected an alderman to the city council and a county supervisor.
