KEY CITY ROOFING COMPANY. Established in 1894 by Robert HAY, the company's offices were located at 8th and White STREETS in 1904-1905. In addition the company had a warehouse at 7th and Washington and another on the levee.
Key City Roofing in 1919 was the largest wholesaler of building materials other than lumber and brick in Iowa and a region within one hundred miles of Dubuque. The company held the franchise in the area for Atlas Portland cement, Barger Asphalt Paper Roofing, and Cary Magnesia Roofing. Other materials sold by the company included pitch, coal tar, roofing paints, deadening felts, wall copings, sewer pipe, flue linings, mortar colors, mineral wood, line hair, fire brick, and fire clay.
The 1916-1917 White's Dubuque County Directory through the 1923 Dubuque City Directory listed 802 White as the address.
The 1929 Dubuque City Directory listed 802 White.
