Formerly employed as a community services advisor with the Area VIII Agency on the Aging, Tauke was a valued member of the Dubuque Housing Commission and the advisory board of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Active politically, Tauke was precinct chairperson for the Dubuque County Republican Central Committee and belonged to the Dubuque County Republican Women.
