CHEWNING, Marguerite.  (Dubuque, IA-June 30, 1912--  ).  A daughter of [[CHEWNING, Charles|Charles CHEWNING]], Marguerite graduated from the [[DUBUQUE ACADEMY OF MUSIC]] where she was a pupil of Professor Klein’s.  She married William Ufer on June 30, 1934 and resided in Chicago, IL, where she had three daughters. She never pursued a musical career, but played for family gatherings, the PTA Chorus, and the Berning School of Music and Dance in Chicago.
