WIENEKE-HOERR COMPANY. Manufacturer of canned goods. Established in 1885 in Dubuque, the company employed one hundred people. The company advertised that in America especially the business profited from the interest "people were showing in providing themselves with the variety of goods packaged in such a manner (canning)."
In 1911 the company was located at 850 Jackson Street.
The 1916-1917 White's Dubuque County Directory and the 1918 Dubuque City Directory listed the address as 860 Jackson.
