FRITH, Eugene E. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 5, 1859--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 19, 1923). The son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Frith who came to this country from England, Thomas Frith attended public schools and then entered the business of his father which became the FRITH'S UNION SLAUGHTER HOUSE. He also owned Frith's Fertilizer Works.
A Republican, Frith served the Fifth Ward on the Dubuque City Council for a total of sixteen non-consecutive years. During his service he saw the form of government change and the ward alderman's position end.
Prominent in fraternal and business organizations, he was a member of the MODERN WOODMEN OF AMERICA, Odd Fellows, and the Elks.
