Delivering the 1954 commencement address, Ameche declared Loras education the best in the land and was awarded the degree Doctor of  Laws, Honoris Causa. In 1984 Ameche assisted in a promotional film for Loras entitled "The Loras Experience."  He is buried in Resurrection Cemetery.
