BARRETT, Louis Cornelius. (Dubuque, IA, Jne 2, 1922--  ). Supervisor.  A graduate of [[LORAS COLLEGE]], Barrett worked for the Catholic Charities program for emotionally disturbed children. In 1968, Barrett ran on the Democratic ticket and unseated the Democratic incumbent, Herbert Orr, to earn a seat on the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors.  He served until 1974 and was credited with the reorganization of the social services department's governing board.  In 1979, Barrett created a political tempest with his endorsement of Republican [[WALSH, John|John WALSH]] for the Iowa Senate.  Following his service on the Board, Barrett was active in elderly assistance programs.
