DOTY, Delhi A. (Dubuque, IA, Aug. 22, 1923--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 28, 1998) In 1920 Delhi Doty, the owner and operator of [[DOTY'S GROCERY]] was an accomplished accordion player and a former member of the [[CLARENCE ZAHINA BAND]].  He was also a former mayor of Sageville. (1)

Hewas the leader of [[DOTY'S DUBUQUE BAND]], a group of musicians which merged with the [[DUBUQUE MILITARY BAND]] to become the [[DUBUQUE COMMUNITY BAND]]. (2) Doty served as the first director of the new group and remained in that position until his death. (3)
