(EMPLOYED) GIRLS' DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS. In 1929 the City Playground and Recreation Commission proposed the musical group to five the "girls" who were employed an opportunity to "learn rhythm and to take part in community celebrations." If the organizational effort proved successful, it was planned to work towards the purchase of attractive uniforms. Costs were person were to kept small.

Interested employed girls only were to submit her name and address to the commission at the [[DUBUQUE CITY HALL).
