Customers paid in advance for for farm products thereby assuming some of the production risks. Tree of Life CSA and Small Family CSA Farm aided Jay Jubeck in create his own membership program. | ||
Using the online fundraising site Kickstarter, the company raised an estimated $37,000. This was used to renovate the building interior with $10,000 being used for the purchase of brewing equipment. Donors' investments earned rewards. A "full membership" of $600 included a free "growler," a two liter bottle of beer per week; $350 earned two free growlers per month while $200 gave members four free pints per month. In effect, the donors were paying for their beer before it was produced.
