KINTZINGER, John. (Luxemburg, Germany, Jan. 4, 1835-Chicago, IL, Mar. 20, 1914). Kintzinger, father of Judge John W. KINTZINGER, came to Dubuque in 1856 and entered the grocery business.
In 1867 he joined the DUBUQUE POLICE DEPARTMENT as a patrolman. Kintzinger became a captain on the police force, a position he held for six years, before leaving Dubuque with his family for South Dakota.
