LORENZ, Roman. (Baden, Germany, Aug. 8, 1835--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 22, 1902). Lorenz learned the tailor's trade in Germany; he emigrated to America in 1853 and came to Dubuque the same year. He worked for others until 1860 when he opened his own tailoring business.
He married Miss Anna Gaylord from Belgium on June 4, 1866; they had eight children.
