BLUMENAUER, M. (Germany, Aug. 12, 1836--Unknown). Blumenauer came to America in 1842 and grew up in Frederick City, Maryland. He came to Dubuque in 1856 and worked for the brewery of Titus Schmid & Co. as superintendent. (1)
Upon the death of the original partners, Blumenauer operated the brewery for the new owners until 1877 when William MEUSER, with the descendents of Titus SCHMID bought the business. (2)
Blumenauer held the office of city alderman from the Fifth Ward and served as mayor, pro tem.
