WOLCOTT, S.A. (Orange Co., NY, Sept. 8, 1824--Unknown). Wolcott moved to Boston and worked in railroading for fifteen years. In 1857, he came to Iowa. Wolcott farmed for a short time and then returned East to railroading.
In 1863, Wolcott came to Dubuque and the following year was appointed trainmaster on the DUBUQUE AND SIOUX CITY RAILROAD. He remained with that road and the ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD until the spring of 1871. He then became Assistant Superintendent for the CHICAGO, CLINTON, DUBUQUE AND MINNESOTA RAILROAD COMPANY.
In 1879 he was the president of the DUBUQUE DRAINAGE COMPANY.
