CHOUTEAU, Jean Pierre. (St. Louis, MO, Jan.19, 1789-- St. Louis, MO, Sept. 6, 1865). Chouteau, nephew of Rene Auguste Chouteau, arrived in this area after the death of Julien DUBUQUE. He is believed to have stayed briefly and then returned to St. Louis.
