A. Y. MCDONALD PARK. Named for Andrew Young MCDONALD, a pioneer Dubuque industrialist whose family in 2015 continues to operate one of the largest companies in the city, A. Y. McDonald Park is located on the Hawthorne Street peninsula. Since the area is the site of five city water wells, the park was originally to be named Water Works Park.
