DUBUQUE OMNIBUS COMPANY. The Dubuque Omnibus Company was organized around 1880 with John H. Waller and president and Sanford A. ATHERTON as manager and treasurer. Upon the death of Waller, J. A. Early became the president.
The company had a contract for carrying United States mails from the post office to the various railroads. It also maintained equipment for a funeral including a hearse. At a given time, the company could be expected to employ twenty workers and have from forty to forty-five horses.
The 1884-1885 Dubuque City Directory gave 37 Julien as the address.
The 1886-87 Dubuque City Directory listed 39 Julien.
The 1890-91 Dubuque City Directory listed 37 Julien.
