(Koehler) Schute, Robert served in the Company A Iowa National Guard from 1954 to 1965. Graduated from barber school in 1957, he worked with his father at SCHUTE'S BARBER SHOP on University. He married Shirley A. Rank on November 26, 1959.
Robert retired from JOHN DEERE DUBUQUE WORKS in 1989 and his wife owned and operated the Rhomberg Dairy Queen from 1982 to 2000. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow through his work as Assistant Scout Master with Holy Trinity Troop 16.
