Established around 1960 in Dubuque, the group had approximately fifty members in the congregation when its building at 2529 Marywood Drive was dedicated on June 12, 1976. Nearly three years were taken to construct the church that was built primarily by members of the congregation. Meetings had previously been held in private homes.
