FROMMELT, Andrew. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 21, 1921- ). Iowa legislator. A three-term president of the Dubuque Trades and Labor Congress, Frommelt was elected to the 55th, 56th and 57th General Assemblies. He served as a member of the budget and financial control committee from 1953 to 1957 and 1959 to 1963.
Elected to the senate in 1958, Frommelt was the minority floor leader in the 59th and 60th General Assemblies, the majority leader in the 61st and 62nd, and minority leader in the 63rd.
