CARROLL BROTHERS. Started by James H. Carroll, the grocery was first operated with his son, Charles. It was later operated by Charles and his younger brother, John. Charles left the business to live on a farm south of Dubuque around 1897.  


The 1874-1875 ''Dubuque City Directory'' stated that this business was located at 154 1st.

CARROLL BROTHERS. Started by James H. Carroll, the grocery was first operated with his son, Charles. It was later operated by Charles and his younger brother, John. Charles left the business to live on a farm south of Dubuque around 1897.
