HOPPE, Fred. (Burscheidt, Germany, Mar. 3, 1836--Unknown). Director, Iowa Conservatory of Music. Following the [[CIVIL WAR]], Hoppe taught music in Dubuque and founded the Iowa Conservatory of Music. Elected the leader of the [[GERMANIA BAND]], Hoppe continued as leader when it merged with the Great Western Band.
