COTTINGHAM, John D. (Benton, WI, July 9, 1869--Dubuque, IA, 1949). President, COTTINGHAM AND BUTLER, INC. Cottingham started in the insurance business with his father, Dixon Cottingham, in 1907. He served as president of the company and at the time of his death was a director of another insurance company in Des Moines.
