In 1989 James J. Weber purchased controlling interest from his aunt Anna Mae Weber Aschenbrener Genszler. The company in 1991 served an estimated 5,000 customers within seventy-five miles of Dubuque and remained a family-owned wholesale operation.

In 1995, Weber Paper Co. acquired Waterloo Paper Co. which today operates as Weber Paper Co. from a 32,500-sq-ft warehouse in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

After forty-five years in downtown Dubuque, the company in 1996 built a larger, state-of-the-art facility on the city’s west side and moved their operation.

In 2012 Weber Paper Co. employed more than 45 people between its two locations and served approximately 7,500 customers in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota. In addition to serving traditional markets like printing, janitorial, food service, packaging and industrial, Weber Paper Co. offered many diversified products and services. The company had a large presence in the health care market and was a member of local and national associations such as APIC and ASHES.
