MCGEEHAN, William D. (Bayonne, NJ- ). President and director, [[AMERICAN TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK]] and AMTRUST, Inc. McGeehan became the president of American Trust in 1983 and the president of AMTRUST, Inc. in 1985. One of the four founders of Dubuque Main Street Ltd., he served as the president of the [[DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE]] in 1988-1989 and a member of its board for seven years. McGeehan is a former member of the [[GREATER DUBUQUE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION]].

McGeehan became the president, chief executive officer and director of American Trust in 1983 and the president of AMTRUST, Inc. in 1985. One of the four founders of [[DUBUQUE MAIN STREET]], he served as the president of the [[DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE]] in 1988-1989. In this capacity, he initiated the annual "Business Forecast Luncheon." He remained a member of its board for seven years. McGeehan was a former member of the [[GREATER DUBUQUE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION]].  


McGeehan's fund-raising talents were shown when he chaired the immensely successful $425,000 fund drive for the Iowa Visitors Center. He has also served as a division chair on the United Way campaign. In 1990 McGeehan was recognized by the [[DUBUQUE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY]] as its Volunteer of the Year.
