BELDEN, C. W. (Greenfield, NY, Apr. 2, 1802-- ). Physician and surgeon. Belden studied medicine in Onondago Co., New York, and graduated at Fairfield, Herkimer Co., in 1835. He began the practice of medicine in Genesee Co. in 1855 and came West to Iowa.
Belden settled in Dubuque and was one of the Board of Examining Surgeons for the army during the CIVIL WAR. He was also a member of the board of education for many years and held the office of president. He was also one of the Board of Examiners for Pensions.
