WUNDERLICH, Henry. (Plauen, Saxony, Germany, Aug. 31, 1836--Dubuque, IA, June 7, 1903). Wunderlich spent his early life in Germany and received a superior musical education in Leipsich. He came to this country while still a young man and settled in Dubuque in 1855.
Wunderlich was considered one of the foremost musicians of this country. For ten or fifteen years he performed with the Grand Opera House orchestra.
For most of his life, Wunderlich was associated with the furniture business. From 1876 through 1899 he served as the manager of the DUBUQUE CABINET MAKERS' ASSOCIATION at 429 Main Street. In 1899 he went into business for himself under the firm name of H. Wunderlich & Son.
