A+PC TECHNEER. Ed Spring began the business out of my home in Holy Cross in 1999, where he initially ran a desktop publishing business. His wife, Karen (nee Hutchcroft) and he did page layout for textbooks.
With additional time, Spring started a computer repair business which he called PC Techneer. With much of the textbook production being sent overseas by the textbook publishers (early 2002), his desktop publishing business mostly ceased to operate and he focused instead on the computer repair business.
They moved to Dubuque and he operated PC Techneer out of his house, while also watching their young son, Ted. He briefly rented out the front of the building at 22nd Street and Jackson (which was at one time the SILVER CHICKEN restaurant), but was not satisfied with that arrangement. He noticed a unit open in the Herrig Insurance building at 3684 Crescent Ridge. He relocated there in June of 2007. He renamed the business A+ PC Techneer, to emphasize his CompTIA A+ certification.
In 2015 A+ Techeer remained at 3684 Crescent Ridge. Services provided included virus/malware removal, computer repair and upgrades, onsite and remote help, maintenance services, installation services, printer repair, home networking and equipment sales.
Both Mac and PC computers were serviced.
