AMECHE, Don. (Kenosha, WI, May 31, 1908--Scottsdale, AZ, Dec. 6, 1993). Ameche was a well-respected Hollywood actor with such film credits as "Cocoon," for which he received an Oscar in 1986. He attended COLUMBIA COLLEGE later (LORAS COLLEGE) and, in 1925, was elected captain of the basketball team.
