EGELHOF, Louis F. (Dubuque, IA, July 22, 1885--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 24, 1953). Between 1900 and 1934, when he became the director, Egelhof worked as a partner in the funeral business with his father, Frederick Louis EGELHOF.
Upon his father's death, Egelhof operated the business using the name Egelhof Home for Funerals at several locations in Dubuque before finally moving to 1145 Locust Street in 1933. (1) He was succeeded by his son, Charles L. "Chuck" EGELHOF.
Egelhof served on the board of directors of the Masonic Temple Association and the YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (Y.M.C.A.) He is also remembered for his photography of early Dubuque.
