RUSSELL, J. A. (Dubuque, IA--  ). Using the money he earned while a student at [[DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL]], Russell pursued his interest in photography. Listed in 1955 in ''Who' Who of Nature Photography,'' he was ranked in that year as one of the top fifteen nature photographers in the United States.  He was also listed among the top fifty of nine hundred pictorial photographers.
