BETTY BUILDING. Located at 901 Jackson, the building was named for the Betty Baxter Products advertising that once covered much of the southeastern wall of the building.  The advertising and much of the white paint was later removed. The building was constructed in several stages beginning in the 1850s. Originally a linseed oil paint factory, it was later a bakery and finally an electrical supply house operated by [[UNIVERSAL ELECTRIC SUPPLY INC.]]

In 2013 plans were announced to convert the building into sixteen energy-efficient apartments.
In 2013 plans were announced to renovate the building. The former home of the [[DUBUQUE LINSEED OIL PAINT COMPANY]] was to be converted into 16 loft-style apartments on four floors with such amenities as a rooftop garden.
