JUNKERMANN, Karl Frederick "Otto." (Germany, Aug. 12, 1825--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 5, 1883). Druggist. Junkermann came to Dubuque in 1854. In 1855 with [[HAAS, Julius W.|Julius W. HAAS]], Junkermann established [[JUNKERMANN & HAAS]] one of the most profitable wholesale drug outlets in the city.

Junkermann is perhaps best remembered for the lands he purchased along the bluffs of the [[MISSISSIPPI RIVER]] south of the city. This site eventually became the [[E. B. LYONS INTERPRETATIVE CENTER]].
