SCHLUETER, Leo. (Dubuque, IA-Dubuque, IA, Sept. 14, 1984). Co-founder, Schlueter Insurance. In 1954 Schlueter became the first recipient of the "Parent of the Year" award at LORAS COLLEGE. The co-founder of Schlueter Insurance Inc. in 1921, he was chairman in 1946 of the Sacred Heart Renovation Program and served on the MOUNT CALVARY CEMETERY Board from 1945 to 1955.
Schlueter, a player with the Dubuque White Sox Baseball team, served as manager of the team during the 1940s. He assisted in the organization of the Dubuque Junior Boys Baseball League in 1942.
