RHOMBERG, Kevin. (Dubuque, IA- ). Baseball star. Rhomberg, a STEPHEN HEMPSTEAD HIGH SCHOOL Athlete and member of the 1974 All State Baseball team, was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1977. He started with Waterloo in 1978 and achieved a .312 batting average after being promoted to Chattanooga of the Class AA Southern League.
From Chattanooga, Rhomberg moved to Tacoma, Washington, and the Class AAA Pacific Coast League. On September 9, 1982, Rhomberg hit his first big league home run for the Cleveland Indians.
