PETER KIENE AND SON. The firm of Peter Kiene and Son in 1911 was entering its 54th year in the business of mortgages, loans, and real estate. The company also handled all lines of insurance including accident, automobile, boiler, burglary, credit, elevator liability, fly wheel, hail, health, horse and vehicle, and life among others included in their advertisements.
The company's officers were Peter KIENE, Franc W. ALTMAN, E.A. Fitz, Otto M. Lorenz, and William Zumhof.
The 1878-79 Dubuque City Directory listed the southeast corner of Main and 5th.
The 1880 Dubuque City Directory stated that this business, insurance, was to be found at the corner of 7th and Main.
The 1883 and 1886-1887 Dubuque City Directory stated that this business was located at the northeast corner of 4th and Main.
The 1904-1905 Dubuque City Directory located this business, real estate, at the Kiene Building on the northeast corner of Main and 4th.
The 1909 through 1913 Dubuque and Dubuque County Directory stated that this business was located at 406 Main.
