HARDIE, Frank. (Dubuque, IA, Mar. 22, 1911- ). Chairman, Frank Hardie Advertising. Hardie, recipient of the 1988 FIRST CITIZEN AWARD of the TELEGRAPH HERALD, compiled a distinguished list of service to the Dubuque community. He served as the first president of the Arboretum Association and held charter-member status in the CLARKE COLLEGE Development Council. A former board member of the DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, Hardie served on the boards of Albrecht Acres and the DUBUQUE ARTS COUNCIL. He was a director of the Five Flags Executive Committee, the DUBUQUE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, and was a project business consultant for JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT. Hardie served as president of the Rotary Club, the St. Columbkille Parish Council and the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT Board of Education.
